A rare update.

I got back from Vancouver yesterday quite late in the day due to a recycling truck on fire between Vancouver and Abbotsford. Anyway, Vancouver was amazing I haven't been there since I was significantly younger than I am now. I saw Fiona Apple at the Orpheum Theatre on the 24th, simply put she's amazing and I'm super happy to have seen her perform live. I don't think it's often that people get to see their heroes in the flesh.

I didn't take many photos in Vancouver, I haven't taken many photos period for quite some time. Apathy? Procrastination? I'm not sure why, it's not like I was good anyway.

Vancouver from Stanley Park.

Microscopic Macrocosm.
Still alive, as if any one was wondering. Work and life interfering with a good chance to get out nice and early before the sun rises (my favourite time to shoot). To that point I got a microscope on the way, so I shall be experimenting with photomicroscopy and hopefully I'll have some interesting photos for you guys n' gals in the very near future. I'm pretty excited about it to tell the truth, something new to work with and hopefully create unique'ish images with. In the least, I'll be uploading something hehe.

Life, the Universe...
Isn't it interesting how you can have one state of mind for a given period of time and then come to the sudden realization that everything you thought you knew was completely wrong. Some people may find this overwhelming, depressing, perhaps infuriating. Maybe all three at the same time. All I know is that in the end it is ultimately liberating. Your mind now rid of past biases and preconceived notions of reality is free to construct whatever next artifice of existence that suits your fancy. The best part though is that whatever artifice that you forge is almost certainly faulty in some or all areas of composition in one way or another. Change is the lifeblood of our existence since our existence rests solely on our imperfect, often erroneous, human brains. Some people take life all too seriously and while this disposition works for certain circumstances it is, in my opinion, ultimately futile. Since if you can't laugh at life, you're doing it wrong.

Loved ones?
Presents?
Snow?
Alcohol (copious amounts)?
Food (epic proportions)?
Baby Jesus (Zombie Jesus?)?
Dies Natalis Solis Invicti?
Axial tilt of the Earth?
Pretty snow pictures?
Terrible overexposed/underexposed can't-meter-snow pictures?
More food?
More beer?

There's only really one reason for the season.

I CHOOSE BEER ANYWAY.

First, wash your sweet rice, I just measure it and "wash" it right in the nice measuring cup I have, by stirring it and replacing the water a number of times (don't pour out the rice... obviously). I use a full cup of rice. That's just how I roll.
Make sure you have a pot with a lid and a pan warmed up ready to go. Wow this is hard right?
Bring necessary amount of water to a boil after putting in salt, butter, lemon pepper spice, chili pepper spice, or any spice to fit your taste. I like it spicy, if you know what I mean.
Since you're using the good yummy washed rice it will take around 10-15 minutes, I know that's a long time but just bear through it. No roaring in the kitchen now, ya hear?
Okay since your rice is done lets get that pan lubed up and put around half your rice into it and start frying it up. That's good stuff. You may want to put some sweet chili sauce on it while its frying, for sweet n spicy goodness. I like to add two eggs as well. You can mix the egg white in with the rice to cook it faster than the yolk. So then you get yolky goodness in your rice as well. I love the taste of unborn animals. I usually make this in the morning. This was inserted into my journal to simply have something else there, thank you for partaking in this exercise. Ramen.
